Pastry Fillings
The design of French Gourmet Pastry Fillings
The inspiration for the palate of pastry fillings comes from its natural source. French Gourmet fillings are made from pure, raw ingredients. This is the first step in creating an exceptional filling appropriately suited for French Gourmet Artisan Frozen Dough.
French Gourmet shops the world for the finest ingredients for each of its distinctive pastry fillings. Chocolate is imported from Europe; wild blueberries from New Brunswick; apples and raspberries from Washington State; almonds, walnuts and raisins from California; coconut from Samoa and the Philippines; maple syrup from Canada; cinnamon from Vietnam; mangoes from Mexico; bananas from Central America; and pineapples and guavas from the islands of Hawaii.
All fillings are made fresh in-house. From these primary ingredients, just enough cane sugar is added to enhance the natural flavors. Starches deriving from plants and vegetables are added to provide the desired texture for each filling. This composition results in purity and authentic taste rarely found today.
In contrast, commercial fillings are made in a totally different manner. High-fructose corn syrup is the primary ingredient, water second, with the filling flavor perhaps third. Then, artificial flavors and colorings are added with chemicals to stabilize shelf life. These commercial fillings have no aroma and a pronounced chemical aftertaste.
It's no wonder that chefs say that French Gourmet's pastry fillings taste so real and natural. The genuine flavors burst out in every bite.
Such comments confirm the French Gourmet brand is a symbol of quality -- art in the truest sense.
